This is a casual drop-in type hang out where you can say hi, stick around for some lunchtime conversation, or just tune in to some ambient social interaction we've all been missing away from the office. Every Wednesday at 8 we'll be hosting a watch party! See the posts for specific details on what is currently being viewed, and how to join. We hope to see you there!We will still use teleparty due to size limitations on Hulu's watch party service. Please remember that the teleparty app will need to be installed into your browser ahead of time and can be found at netflixparty.com ! In addition, you will need an account with Hulu to be able to join.

The JETAA Pacific Book Club is set to launch in January of 2021! Before we kick it off, we'd like to have some input from our inaugural members. Please tell us more about what and how you like to read. Our first book club meeting is scheduled for Sunday, January 24, 2021, 2pmHST/3pmAKDT/4pmPDT and will last one hour. We are planning to announce the first book in the beginning of January to allow everyone time to read. Our first meeting will also include time for introductions and going over the format of the group.

Join Dr. Mya Fisher (JET in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa, 2000-2002) from Global Equity Forward for a 90-minute training on "Racial and Social Justice in Cross-Cultural Contexts: Meaning and Action in the U.S.-Japan Community." The session will use presentations and interactive breakouts to examine the challenges presented by the way Japan and the U.S. understand terms like diversity, racial and social justice. Discussions will focus on how these issues impact organizations and members of the U.S.-Japan community. Participants will learn how to create safe spaces and foster community to address these issues. Be prepared to have your camera on and discuss your personal experiences. Start off 2021 with JETAANY's week-long virtual Shinnenkai from Monday, January 25 to
Friday, January 29! All virtual events are FREE!We'll have JETAANY chefs going live on our Facebook page, sharing some of their favorite recipes, as well as a talk by author Scott Haas (via Zoom). On Friday, we invite everyone to come together virtually for a Kanpai, social gathering, and games (via Zoom).
All virtual events are free, but if you want to enhance your Shinnenkai experience, we will mail you a swag bag for $15. The package will include JETAANY-branded goodies: reusable utensils (a set of chopsticks, a spoon, and a fork), a reusable grocery tote, a face mask, and recipes from all of the virtual cooking events.
