Why post a job to the JETAA community?
The JET alumni community is nearly 75,000 strong worldwide with over half of those alumni in the USA.
Alumni work in and across all sectors and industries from health care to education to law to civil service and beyond.
JETs are naturals at bridging the cultural gap between the US and Japan having spent anywhere from 1-5 years in the Japanese workforce throughout Japan, from small countryside towns to big cities. They understand how to navigate both professional and social situations, drawing upon their extensive and immersive experience in Japan during their tenure on the JET Program.
JETs have varying levels of Japanese language and cultural competencies which they are eager to exercise after their tenure on the Program.
This is a highly educated group of individuals who are globally curious. Approximately 50% of JET alumni go on to earn graduate or higher degrees post-JET.
All participants of this competitive program were vetted and approved by the Japanese Government to work in public schools and town halls / offices throughout Japan.
Many companies have recognized the deep skills and talents this niche community has and have started working with USJETAA in different capacities to connect with alumni. Nearly all of our followers, subscribers and engaged participants are JET alumni who have lived and worked in Japan through the JET Program for 1-5 years. Approximately 90% of JETs worked in the public school systems while the other 10% served in town halls and offices throughout Japan. JETs go on to work in a variety of industries and sectors such as diplomacy, health care, law, education, engineering, the arts etc. You can find JET alumni in pretty much every industry and sector- particularly those which intersect with Japan.

No, our job posting policy requires each job posting advertises only one position. If you have multiple jobs, you will need to pay for and post each one separately. If you foresee posting several jobs to our community, you may want to consider corporate sponsorship, which usually includes up to 2 free job postings each month.

JETAA has chapters across the nation. If you have a job that is in a specific region and you would like us to help target that area, please put add that in the comments section of your submission form. We will reach out to the appropriate JETAA chapter in that area and request their support in promoting it to their membership.

YES! We are happy to post jobs that are located anywhere in the world. Our audience is mainly interested in positions that have a connection to Japan in some way.

NO. We cannot guarantee how many candidates will apply nor that our network will have a matched applicant that results in a hire. The goal of this job board is to connect employers with a very niche audience of candidates made up largely of JET alumni who have Japanese and English language and cultural skills.
